Objective
Technology to tighten the heated materials to the up or bottom type and form with pressurizing.
Characteristics
1) Main Characteristics
- Preliminary process of heating at a temperature (over 850 degrees Celsius) which makes the forming possible is required.
- The temperature of the whole materials shall be dispersed consistently according to the direction both of the thickness and length.
- Conditions of forming considering the texture and concept of the mold, heating temperature and alpha case reduction, pressure control and spring back.
2) Alpha Case Measurement
- On the surface of titanium alpha+beta alloy exposed to over a certain high temperature (around 650 degree) is formed an exposed alpha-layer band. This kind of alpha case is hard and easy to be shattered and is tend to create microcracks which reduce the function of the metals and fatigue property. To eliminate these alpha case, there exist two methods of mechanical processing and chemical treatment currently applicable.
